It's difficult to decide which time of the day is best to workout as there are multiple benefits for each time of your day. Whilst some people love waking up at the crack of dawn and sweating it out to start the day, others can't fathom not exercising in the afternoon.
Exercising in the morning has been proven to have benefits that last throughout the day. These include lowered food cravings, increasing physical exercise throughout the day with an increase in your metabolism resulting in burning more as the day continues. There is also evidence supporting the concept that morning exercisers get a better sleep, this being when your body repairs itself and reduces stress, results in the affect on weight.
Working out later in the afternoon has also been proven to have multiple benefits. It has been found that as body and environmental temperatures reach their peak between 2pm and 6pm, this can impact the quality of your workout. It is this time of day that enzyme activity and muscular function are at their peak which can result in a more effective workout.
Although there a benefits for either working out in the morning or in the afternoon, it depends on the individual and which time of the day works better for you. Ultimately, any sweat time is good sweat time.
Happy sweating!
